About

Caroline’s Bio

I am a survivor of childhood trauma and in ongoing treatment for a mental illness. I’m starting with that declaration because it is the part of my life that eventually resulted in me establishing In God’s Corner Ministry.

Today, I am blessed beyond measure at how God has worked in my life. After living in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for more than 25 years, my husband and I moved to Harrisonville, Missouri, a smallish town southeast of Kansas City. We have made great friends at our new church and enjoy the small-town feeling of family, fellowship, and fun. I’m also blessed to only work part-time outside the home and my ministry. (I’m in marketing at an engineering company.) I can spend plenty of time doing what I love. What I know God has called me to do.

Who am I?

I love the Lord! My Jesus, my Savior, my friend. That’s the first and most important thing I can say about myself.

About Caroline

I love my family! I have been married to my hubby for about 40 years. We are parents to four grown children, who persevered through the ups and downs of my recovery journey with us. Over the past ten years, we’ve gained two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren (3 girls, 1 boy). My mom, sisters, and extended family members are all precious to me and I feel truly blessed by how God has brought us together.

I am a teacher, writer, and speaker. I love to teach God’s Word and have written and taught Bible students for 30 years to children and adults. That is one reason I earned my master’s in Bible and theology from Calvary University (previously Calvary Bible College & Theological Seminary). Another reason was to allow God to equip me and give me confidence in sharing the truth of God’s Word. Check out my Writing and Speaking pages for more information on what I have to offer.

I was a church musician. I have a bachelor’s in music education degree but instead of teaching in a school, I used my training to establish a home-based business teaching early childhood music classes for daycare homes and daycare centers. As a church musician, I have directed children’s choirs, adult choirs, handbells, and orchestras. I also arrange and compose music for worship. After God brought me through my time of crisis, God surprised me. He equipped me and called me to change directions to encourage others with my mental health ministry.

My Purpose

Personal mission: To offer encouragement for life in a complicated world

Several years after I felt more secure in my emotional and mental health, I found out about an amazing program through the Missouri Department of Mental Health where I could use my “lived experience” to encourage others. I became a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) in the mental health field in 2016. After working at a behavioral health organization for about a year, I founded and directed a non-profit with a good friend of mine emphasizing mental health education and awareness from a Christian perspective. (The non-profit was dissolved due to challenges incurred by the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.) I am excited to see where God leads me with In God’s Corner! In addition to this ministry, I lead a Christ-centered mental health support group and have for more than 15 years. It is an honor to serve our Lord in this way.

Welcome! Please let me know how I can encourage you.
